Notice something different? Hello Facelift! To think I've had a domain for almost three years, only attempted a simple blog style site, and now FINALLY having something that would resemble the sweetest little store front, for Caro's Confections. Truth is, I had all these ideas and images, but didn't have a clue how to execute it. Low and behold, a brand new, boutique branding company (boutique for now), called The Gypsy Project.
I currently already have another domain/ site for my other occupation, but I didn't need another corporate style site- not to say thatThe Gyspy Project can't do that, but they also can do things that I haven't seen executed effortlessly. I'm talking IMAGINATION. Read their blog post HERE on their official launch and why branding is soooo important!
So, having a simple base already for my site and content info, did save me alot of time. If you are planning on updated or creating a site, I say get all the busy work of content out of the way or as much as you can. Have your info ready to give them i.e. menu, services info, bio, reviews, images etc. , but dont worry if you dont have a clue, that is what they are there for. The fun part (for me) comes after all the tedious lists and images are sent, and I can start explaining this vision of a site, I've been trying to create to the gypsies. They recomended a mood board, and who doesnt love a mood board- ESPECIALLY on Pinterest! So pinning a few images of color, fonts, and parisian escapes- along with a store front sketch and some doodles- they understood this freakishly fast! To the point where they were creating drawings, that not only fit the whimsical theme I was going for, but totally brought my little store front drawing to life! I wanted to cry- it was so cute!
They truly want to know what YOU want on your site. When you know, you just know- and they encouraged me. Sometimes you think your ideas are too loose, but then they show you how to structure and apply those ideas in the virtual space. From the hand drawn images, to the layout of everything, I was simply over joyed by the results. When everythign was done, I was passed down the freshly made images and a very clear YOUTUBE tutorial- NOT a written outline! The fact that I can follow a visual with the voice over of the gypsies, is pretty awesome and makes it so easy!
Just because I'm a small shop, doesn't mean I can't have a grand "virtual" space to share with you all. Having the proper tools, visuals, and concept makes an impact for any company. If you are starting or need a step up in the game, I reccomend The Gypsy Project. 5 (Stars).
So please take a peak around, be sure to drop by the home page and alley and see how interactive this parisian town is! Do note that this blog feed will be adding some former post of DIY recipes, DIY confections decor, resturaunt reviews and others from the original blog that started it all " There's always time to eat (the in between of a busy artist life)".
Have a great and safe weekend everyone, more to come.
